Where Did My Chrome Extensions Go?

Did you come back from summer holidays only to find that your Chrome Extensions appear to be AWOL?

If you are using extensions in your Google Chrome web browser, such as Snap & Read, Co:Writer, Kurzweil or Read&Write, you may have come back from summer break and can’t find them in your Chrome browser.

Until recently you turned on/off your extensions in Google’s Chrome web browser by going into Settings > Extensions.  With a recent update, the look of the Settings area has changed with its own hamburger menu and a search.  But you won’t find extensions there or by using the search box at the top of Settings

But before you start writing angry memos to administration about how your IT department “did something... again,” look for the new More Tools heading in Chrome’s menu.

That’s where you’ll find Extensions, laid out in pretty much the same way as before.

A few months ago Google, with no fanfare, reorganized things.

But if you still can’t find them under More Tools, then you better get back to writing that memo.
