Learn how to build inclusive environments that supports literacy in English Language Learners and individuals with language impairments. In this hands example rich session you’ll experience:
- Strategies and methods for effective symbolizing of curriculum materials, school environment, letters home, web sites, and more.
- Using Widgit Symbol tools for students with special needs to support curriculum, language and behaviour.
- Compare symbol sets and tools and try out tools for creating symbol materials -- Communicate: In Print, Communicate: Symwriter.
- Look at how to create symbol supported websites with Point and Insite.
Bring Your Ideas!
Participants will get a chance to create materials using Communicate: Symwriter and Communicate: In Print eg. visual schedules, work sheets, symbol supported poem or article, signs, flashcards etc.
